Marist Youth Ministry (MYM) is an integrated and coordinated area of ministry covering school-based and post-school youth and young adults aged 15-25 across Australia. It is also the youth ministry arm of the Marist Association of St Marcellin Champagnat, connected to the Marist Brothers’ Star of the Sea Province. MYM is dedicated to ‘making Jesus Christ known and loved’, in the words of Saint Marcellin Champagnat, founder of the Marist Brothers.

MYM is committed to engaging with young people, whether they are students, young adults or graduates of Marist Schools and forming a new generation of Marist disciples with strong minds and gentle hearts; young men and women who desire to live the Good News of the Gospel simply and joyfully in their everyday lives.

As a community of faith, MYM invites young people to grow in their Catholic-Marist identity through an authentic encounter with Jesus Christ. Accompanied and supported in their personal and shared journey of life and faith, MYM encourages them to discover God’s call for their lives.

Through experiences of prayer, community and service, MYM awakens within young people their God-given gifts, empowering them to go out and build the Marian face of the Church, to become agents of change in the world, especially among the young and most needy.

Within school ministry, MYM is delivered primarily through the Game Changers program, involving students in Years 7 to 12. However, school ministry also involves other programs, retreats and events organised by MYM.

MYM also engages in young adult ministry. This is undertaken through a range of activities and events across the country, both within the Marist network and through the National Catholic Youth Ministry Network of Australia.

MYM is a shared responsibility, organised in partnership with Marist Schools Australia. The day to day operations are the responsibility of the MYM National Coordinator who oversees the work of the MYM Regional Coordinator, Regional Youth Minister, the Regionals Assistants and Volunteers in Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Sydney.
