YOUNG MARIST VOLUNTEERS

Our volunteer programme is principally an experience of learning and formation that is infused with a strong sense of Marist spirituality and mission. It provides young adults with an opportunity to be exposed to, and directly involved in the design, implementation and evaluation of youth ministry that is characterised with a distinctive Marist approach.

Volunteers and Interns of Marist Youth Ministry (MYM) assist in animating Marist spirituality among youth and young adults, in order to make Jesus Christ known and loved among them and to support them in sharing in God’s mission.

Volunteers and Interns are to assist the Regional MYM Team in the implementation of the key directions of MYM as determined by our strategic plan. Their primary responsibility is for MYM among post-school young people, with secondary responsibilities that include the support of youth ministry initiatives in Marist schools throughout Australia, including Remar, Game Changers, Year 11 and Year 12 Forums, Student Leaders Gatherings and Marist Connect Evenings. For further information contact your local MYM Regional Coordinator.

Marist Vocations Ministry is committed to journeying with young people to discover their vocation. In conjunction with Marist Youth Ministry, they run Marist Forums with Year 11 and 12's all over the country as well as retreats with young men discerning a call to the Marist Brothers.

Marist Solidarity is the international development agency of Marists in Australia, supporting over 100 projects in Asia and the Pacific. The strong presence and culture of giving in Marist schools, as well as the stream of young adults volunteering overseas through Marist Volunteers Australia (MVA), means Marist Solidarity is driven by the passion of young people for young people.
