Day 3: MYM Enviro Challenge 2015
It is day three and you, along with many others, have realised you sing long Adele ballads in the shower and it’s time to re-evaluate your water usage.
Yesterday’s growing awareness can lead to a growing appreciation for our common home. The classic saying, ‘stop and smell the roses,’ is all about being in the present moment and taking notice of what is around you. You can even say to those roses, ‘you know what nature, you’ve done well there, nice use of chlorophyll, respect.’ It is about recognising the sacredness in creation and then looking after it.
This growing appreciation appears in the document on Marist spirituality, Water from the Rock:
122. As brothers and sisters sharing in Life, we want to grow in care for our planet and all creation. With others, we foster the hope that all humankind will come to appreciate the world as our home, where nature is delicately balanced. This requires our living together in an atmosphere of reverence, mutual respect, justice and participation.
Is to appreciate and foster that hope! Post a picture or share something you noticed in your day. Is there a special view on your commute? How about those November jacarandas!? Happy snapping!
