Term 4 Connect

Term 4 Marist Connect - Sydney

Our latest Connect Night brought together schools in the MacArthur and Eastwood regions to focus on 'Caring for our common home.'

We delved into the hot topics of the day - the environmental issues taking place in our world. From rubbish, to degradation, fast fashion and food waste. We looked at how these issues relate to our own lives. How can we make a difference?

We reflected on the life of St Francis and how he worked to see the value in all of creation and the recent encyclical from Pope Francis, Laudato Si.

The students looked at the example of Marist school, Trinity Catholic College, Lismore and how they created the Trinity Sustainability Action Plan in a creative way to tackle their recycling. The students then worked on what they would take back to their school and what they will do during the #MYMEnviroChallenge coming up in November!

Cameron said of the MacArthur schools,

"It was really great to see how the students connected their global concern for this common home, this gift from God, to their local areas and schools and how everything and everyone is ultimately interconnected."

We look forward to seeing what the students take on next month!
